These could be three different ways of approaching life: looking forward to the future, looking back to the past and evaluating the pros and cons of both.

I showed and explained the image to my 6 yo son and he said he prefers to be the boy on the left, because it’s the only one who can think and decide by himself. “He has the freedom to choose, mum.”
