A heavy storm broke out yesterday in Barcelona; it lasted only 15 minutes but it made the manhole covers jump, due to the water pressure in sewers. What a dangerous driving!

News about the lunar eclipse were totally eclipsed yesterday by the unfortunate events at the entrance of Parliament in Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona, where the protesters of the 15M tried to prevent the access of the deputies to the Catalan chamber.
When I shot the Moon at night, the Police helicopter kept flying over my house… overshadowing the lunar eclipse.

The protesters of the #spanishrevolution, still camping at plaça Catalunya, calling for an end to suspected longstanding corruption among established parties.
They seem fully installed at the very center of the city; they are growing a vegetable garden (see the left of the fountain) and doing courses on how to make your own toothpaste, among other activities.
They have their own hair saloon, library with a reading room (including a couple of sofas) and many kitchen amenities under the big tops you can see in the center of the image.
They also have a live music area, a communication center fully prepared with laptops and wifi, an international press section and there’s plenty of blackboards everywhere listing what they need every new day (electronic stuff, food, sun tan lotion… etc). They were asking today for someone able to air a live tv morning show.
(Seen yesterday in Barcelona)

Seen last sunday in Barcelona during the 13th edition of Barcelona Cursa Bombers; the 10k “firemen’s run” organized by Nike Running and the city of Barcelona.
Laura, the daughter of two friends of mine,
asked her mother:
“But mummy, if there is a fire and all the firemen are on the run, who will put out the fire?”

The professor and photojournalist Paco Elvira signing a copy of his new book “Un día de Mayo” yesterday at Galeria Valid Foto BCN, where a talk about Fiction and Reality was held with him and the anthropologist Mila Barrutti.
You can visit the exhibition and get the book at the gallery until April 23. I already have a signed copy and I am looking forward to have a look inside and read it!

Barcelona voted on catalan independence from Spain yesterday; although it is a nonbinding vote, the media put all the efforts to cover the event, and politicians wait for the results of the referendum to take conclusions and give speechs.
Three days after the referendum, the Catalan Parliament will vote to pass the Law of Independence, which does not proclaim independence, but sets the basis to do so.
